Description

MK-677 is a growth hormone secretagogue. A growth hormone secretagogue amplifies the body’s natural release of growth hormone such as when in deep REM sleep, first thing in the morning and after intense exercise.

The hormones that affect growth in mammals are; growth hormone (GH), insulin, Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1), thyroid hormones, glucocorticoids, prolactin, and gonadal steroids (androgens and estrogens). Their role in growth and development has traditionally been investigated by examining the effect of hormone deprivation after organ ablation; the effects of excess amounts of hormones can be observed by administering the hormones to animals in vivo.
